INVERCLYDE CARERS DESERVE MORE SUPPORT
When Inverclyde Carers held their AGM, they decided to ask local MP David Cairns along to talk about the benefits the UK Government provides for carers. Inverclyde has over 8,000 carers and a recent study estimates that they provide around £141 million a year in unpaid care.

BT BACK DOWN OVER OUTRAGEOUS PHONE CHARGES
Inverclyde pensioners Harry and Christine Paul are delighted that BT has waved £184 in repair charges, after Inverclyde MP David Cairns stepped in to fight their corner. The phone company had originally demanded payment for coming out to fix faulty equipment in their home.

PENSIONERS URGED TO CLAIM THEIR WINTER FUEL ALLOWANCE
Most pensioners get their Winter Fuel Allowance automatically, but local MP David Cairns wants to make sure that those who are over 60 and not getting the state pension or any other social security benefit don’t miss out. These are the people who have to apply and, if they register before 19th September, they will be guaranteed their money in time for Christmas.
