TESCO’S ‘COMPUTERS FOR SCHOOLS’ SCHEME HELPS PUPILS’ EDUCATION
David Cairns MP was at Tesco in Darlymple Street recently to mark the company’s donation of computer equipment to local schools. Over ten weeks between March and May, schools in the local area collected vouchers to earn computer equipment, such as PC’s, laptops, digital microscopes and scanners. And a number of Inverclyde schools will now benefit from the additional hardware.

DAVID BACKS POLAR MEDAL CAMPAIGN FOR 'CHIPPY' MCNISH
Inverclyde MP David Cairns is backing the McLean Museum’s petition to get Port Glasgow’s famous son, Henry ‘Chippy’ McNish, a posthumous medal for his part in Shackleton’s 1914-16 expedition to the South Pole. Most of the men on the Antarctic expedition received a Polar Medal for their endurance – but ‘Chippy’ missed out because he fell out with Shackleton.
