THALIDOMIDE VICTIMS DESERVE MORE COMPENSATION SAYS MP
Inverclyde MP David Cairns is backing the Thalidomide Trust’s campaign for more compensation for those who affected by the drug. David recently met Trust members in Westminster and he is supporting local thalidomide sufferer, Stuart McLeod, in his bid to get help for people who have the condition.

WORKERS’ MEMORIAL DAY SHOULD BE OFFICIALLY RECOGNISED
Every year trade unionists, politicians and clergy gather in Clyde Square to commemorate Workers’ Memorial Day. It serves to remind us of the thousands of people who have been killed, injured or made ill through their work. But the day currently has no official recognition. Now that’s all set to change as James Purnell MP, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, launches a formal consultation on marking the day - and there are already calls to make it a public holiday.
