It serves to remind us of the thousands of people who have been killed, injured or made ill through their work. But the day currently has no official recognition. Now that’s all set to change as James Purnell MP, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, launches a formal consultation on marking the day - and there are already calls to make it a public holiday. |
