Provost, Michael McCormick, and Council Leader Stephen McCabe were confirmed in their posts at the recent meeting of the full Council, and Inverclyde’s Labour MP is keen to work closely with them over the coming years to ensure that regeneration forges ahead. 8.5.2007 15:27 POPULAR VETERANS’ BADGE EXTENDED TO FALKLANDS CAMPAIGN The Veterans’ Lapel Badge has proved so popular, that the Government is extending it to cover personnel who served in the Armed Forces up to December 1984. Previously, only those who served to 1969 could claim the badge, but now service personnel who were in Northern Ireland and the Falklands will also be eligible. The badge was first introduced in 2004 for veterans of the two World Wars and, to date, over 400,000 veterans nationwide have claimed their medal. |
