PATHWAYS” PROJECT HELPS OVER 1,000 PEOPLE BACK INTO WORK

Greenock Jobcentre Plus played host to Inverclyde MP David Cairns on Friday 17th February, when he met some of the people helped back into employment by the Pathways to Work project. In October 2003 Inverclyde became a pilot area for Pathways to Work, which provides individually tailored help and support to people so that they can escape from incapacity benefits and get back into the labour market. The Government’s latest welfare reforms build on the Pathways scheme, so Inverclyde will have led the way when it comes to implementing the new Employment and Support Allowance.
