September 2007
Constituency
This was another busy month during which I visited St Michael’s Primary School, met with representatives form River Clyde Homes and the Federation of Housing Association and also went along to Notre Dame High School. I also attended the AGM of Inverclyde CVS, visited Lylybank School and judged the debating contest at St Columba’s in Kilmacolm. In the latter part of the month I attended the Inverclyde Business Awards, went along to the Tail O’ the Bank Credit Union, met the chair of Riverside Inverclyde, presented the Tesco computers for schools, spoke to the Arts Guild and was lucky enough to be invited aboard the QE2.
Surgeries
This month I had surgeries in Port Glasgow, Craigend Resource Centre, and the Parliamentary Office. I also held a tea and coffee morning in Larkfield.
Scotland Office
In August I carried out a number of Scotland Office duties including, meeting with Crown Estate officers in Edinburgh, addressing a SCDI dinner in London and visiting the Centre for Healthy Working Lives in Hamilton. Additionally, I was the keynote Government speaker at the Offshore Europe Conference in Aberdeen and I also spoke at conference energy in Dounreay. Later in the month I went to the opening of the new BBC offices in Glasgow and met with Dr Peters from Scottish Engineering
