Scotland Office
Another busy month at the Scotland Office where I represented the Government in an Adjournment Debate on Scotland and the Union and also spoke in the debate on the Scottish Parliamentary Elections. At Scottish Questions I answered points on climate change, drug classification, second home owners and the digital switchover. I also attended the Madeleine McCann Family Appeal meeting at the House of Commons, visited Thales in Govan, a leading maker of electro-optical equipment for the defence industry and went along to the open cast coal site in Glenmuckloh.

Northern Ireland
My Northern Ireland responsibilities ceased at the start on May when the new Assembly got off the ground. My final duty was to attend an address which Irish PM gave to the Commons about the restoration of devolution in Northern Ireland.

Constituency
Amongst the things I did this month in the constituency were: meeting with representatives from Port Glasgow Industrial Estate about plans for the area, going to visit the Moving On drug rehabilitation centre and also meeting with Airtricity who have just moved back into Greenock.

Surgeries
I held two surgeries in the Parliamentary Office, one in Boglestone and another in St John’s Church in Gourock.
