Scotland Office During August I met with the Chief Executive of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, I also met with the Head of BBC programmes in Scotland to discuss the Corporation’s Scottish output and I visited Barnardo’s in Edinburgh to hear about their latest projects. In addition I had a meeting with the Equalities Co-ordinating Group, and met representatives from the Faslane Base. Constituency Although I was on holiday for a couple of weeks in August I still managed to find time to meet the Port Glasgow Traders’ Association to talk about their plans for developing the town centre, I went along to the opening of the Phoenix Health Project’s new premises, which will allow them to offer a wider range of services to the public and I also had a meeting the Scottish Post Office chiefs about the Post Office moving into the WH Smith shop. One of the highlights of the month was attending the 150th celebrations of St Laurence’s Primary School in Greenock and meeting pupils past and present. Surgeries This month I held several surgeries in the Parliamentary Office.
